If we were to go by the dictionary's definition of fear it would be, a feeling of agitation and anxiety caused by present or imminent danger. Another definition is, a feeling of disquiet or apprehension. My understanding of fear is the birth of negative thoughts placed in our minds resulting in a state of emotional imbalance, leading toward unstable decisions. "If I think it, so shall it be." I say this to say, what prompts you to purchase that new Louis Vuitton "Never Full" ? How agitated must one be to justify a purchase unwarranted, what is it that you are afraid to address when your emotions go from disappointment to fulfillment when you've made eye contact with your new purchase? In my experience there is no true therapy in retail therapy. The battle with shopping while upset has only led me down a more unstable path. The butterflies in my stomach, the unanswered questions that play over and over in your mind and the constant emotional feelings of doubt. All of these emotions add up to one conclusion (the answer is NO). The only way to shop, is to shop with a clear view, and joyful spirit so that you may sincerely enjoy your purchases. If in-turn you shop while upset, you may very well regret your items and you still have to address the original issue. Retail therapy is just therapeutic for the retailers. A conscious choice is a peaceful choice.
